Huron County Board of DD started their customer journey working with GO-Concepts. They are now being supported by VC3 since the acquisition of GO-Concepts in 2023.

As their IT partner, [VC3] ensures Huron County DD’s IT assets, systems, and services are properly maintained, secure, and functional.

“I work back and forth with [VC3] to help us be more technologically advanced,” says Kari. “[VC3] has worked with us to reach an acceptable point and then continue pushing us forward.”

As its official Managed Services Provider,[VC3] provides end-to-end IT support and services for Huron County DD.

“Other IT companies haven’t been able to get us to this level because they didn’t understand what we were doing and what we’re trying to do,” says Kari. “[VC3] has worked with other county boards, and they’re very familiar with us.”

By liaising directly with a member of the Huron County DD staff, our team can promptly provide mission-critical services on which the organization depends.

“When we call, we get immediate responses,” says Kari. “Our issues are resolved very quickly.”

Moving To The Private Cloud

“We had a very archaic system; our servers were on site,” says Kari. “They were getting older and would be expensive to replace.”

The server is the backbone of an IT environment. They host critical data and apps, which is why they must be well taken care of. Careful maintenance, management of updates, and tracking of its lifecycle are critical for an organization’s uptime and cyber security.

Failing to take care of your server(s) will eventually lead to total server failure and/or vulnerability to cyber criminals. A poorly maintained or aging server can present several serious risks to organizations like Huron County DD.

Without proper management, a faulty server can cause a lot of problems:

  • No room: Servers only have so much storage space to offer.
  • Lag & performance issues: The older hardware gets, the more likely it’ll start to slow down.
  • Failure & risk of data loss: At a certain point, hardware gets so old it’s prone to fail. For a range of reasons, it’ll just stop working.

“That’s when they talked to us about going into the cloud,” says Kari.

Cloud migration is a big process; if it’s not handled correctly, it can be error-prone and overly expensive. An improperly managed migration can result in a range of negative consequences:

  • During the transition, the organization or business could permanently lose key data with no backup or redundancies to replace it.
  • The already expensive migration could take longer than expected and add additional downtime to the staff’s work life.
  • Once it is finally installed and launched, the platform is overly complicated and difficult to learn, leading to more downtime for the staff.

Huron County DD relied on [VC3] to handle the process. By having an expert, IT company focused on County Boards of DD manage the project, Huron County DD’s staff could focus on their own work and trust that the process was being attended to.

[VC3] eliminated the board’s reliance on local servers by moving their files and folders to the cloud. With our help, they can work from anywhere, from any machine, and do so securely and reliably. Utilizing its Private Cloud in its own secure Data Center, [VC3] delivers Cloud services designed specifically to meet the needs of County Boards and DD-related organizations. And they provide an amazing 99.999% uptime!

Making Remote Work Simple

“COVID hit, forcing us to be more flexible,” says Kari.

IT resources have never been as important as they are now as most professionals work from home. For organizations like Huron County DD to stay connected and productive while working remotely, they need the right technologies and processes in place, as well as a professional and knowledgeable Help Desk and support team on which they can rely.

Due to how quickly the pandemic developed, many organizations could not prepare for the shift to a remote work setting. Doing so would have required careful planning, methodical execution of new processes, and expert implementation of new technologies. Fortunately, Huron County DD could rely on [VC3] for expert assistance.

“We told staff on Friday that we were going to work from home on Monday,” says Kari. “It was a very quick turnaround.”

The [VC3] team ensured that everyone working remotely for the Huron County DD had what they needed to do productively, securely, and reliably.

“[VC3] made that seamless,” says Kari.

That’s why we boldly say… Don’t worry about IT. Let GO do it!
